rel=”nofollow” is it good or bad?

If your a blogger or a reader like me then your most probably familiar with people trying to raise their rank in search engines by submitting comments with URL or simply asking them to visit their site "hey, visit my site www.spammer.com" like so. This scheme is considered as SPAM and this could be a serious problem for blog owner making their blogsite looks like a spam site your site image might degrade and some of your loyal visitor will not have the interest in visiting your site anymore but if your a wordpress user theirs is a great plug-in that prevent SPAM comment by detecting if there are URL present in their comment post you can download it at Askimet website but before you can use this plug-in you must have your API code with you, to get your API code create an account at wordpress website.

Now that I discussed you the bad effect of SPAMMER now let talk about "REL="nofollow" attribute. Basically this attributes will indicate the relationship between the page that has the anchor link to its destination, by supplying the rel="NOFOLLOW" attribute within the anchor link search engine like Google, yahoo, MSN can now detect if the that page is credible to include it to their SERP (search engine result page) but no need to worry since comment system in wordpress has the default attribute of rel="nofollow" plus using Askimet plug-in, no spammer will have the interest in spreading their spam site. :D
